 UPDATE:

All the backup files from the old forum have been created and will soon be transferred to the new site and installed. I'll post another update to let you know how that process worked.

After the files have been installed there will be some final configurations and testing and then it should be good to go.

The move will be happening very soon now. Check in here from time to time to see what is going on.

Another Move Is Happening

This is the place to come to see any updates about the forum move.

Things like:

Date when the current forum will close.

Date when the new one will open.

New address for the new forum.

Other assorted bits of relevant information about my struggles to get the new one working.

Good News (Maybe) On The Upgrade Front

Upgrade Done - Forum Open

I have completed the bulk of the checking and configuration. There are still things to in the background and some stuff that members may, or may not, see but, essentially, it's good to go.

I'm opening it up at 19:00 tonight, (Sat. 1/11/14)

Have a look around, the bulk of the forum will look pretty much like it did before, the major change is the addition of the CMS and Blogs. Both od these are pretty much empty at the moment except for some stuff I did for testing.

I have created a thread in the OTL where you can leave comments or bug reports and the like.

Yet Another Update

Things are looking pretty positive at the moment, the upgrade itself seemed to work OK now for the checks and configurations and all that tedious stuff.

I also need to work out a few things with the new features.

At this point, unless something else springs out to bite me, go live is looking good for maybe midday tomorrow, Sunday.

Upgrade Continues

I think I'm on top of this thing now. There were some "interesting" developments during the process but I think I'm on the downhill side now. 

I'm now aiming for Sunday afternoon to go live at this point. 

What a way to spend a weekend.   :)
